What? Cat got your tongue? We can't talk about the bug in the room and not address the cat. If comparing Ladybug and Marinette is like apples and pears, then Chat Noir and Adrien is like green grapes and purple grapes--very similar, but with a hair of a difference. So, let's forget that Adrien and Chat Noir are the same person and find out what I'm talking about. Warning: Spoilers for Zombizou, Troublemaker, Gorizilla. Let's first talk about the similarities. There are a lot of small potatoes, but there are two very important similarities to note. The first one is their amazing acting. No, I'm not talking about the voice actor, I'm talking about the actual acting the character do in universe. Like when Adrien pretended to be infected in Zombizou or when Chat Noir acted all brave in Troublemaker. Yes, Ladybug can act (as proven in the aformention Troublemaker), but I associate this cuality with Adrien more than anyone. I mean the way he pretends to not know anything when he's with her and not in costume is amazing. Speaking of which, that brings me to my second point, Adrien and Chat Noir's deep trust in Ladybug. Of course Chat Noir trusts Ladybug, that is proven with every time she throws him in battle. But when Adrien throws himself off a building on the sole fact that Ladybug told him to, you know that's trust. It was actually very hard for me to kind differences for these two (it's actually the opposite problem I had with Ladybug). Although, with research, I realized that it all it all boils down to one word: Freedom. Adrien is modest and quiet around people because he feel like all eyes are glued on him. He doesn't have any wiggle room to be himself. But with the mask comes an ego, and that's Chat Noir's defining trait. He's cocky and because of that he's reckless at times. He's thinks he's so awesome that he can make a lame pun and the whole world will laugh just because he said it. Adrien doesn't have that luxury because, as proven in Gorizilla, the whole world will go gaga for him. So, the freedom is what lets Chat Noir be himself with no restrictions. I'm not going to lie, it was a very hard decision to pick between Chat Noir and Adrien. They both bring interesting attitudes to that table. It's almost like they are the same person! So, it really just depends on my mood. At the time of writing this, I would say Adrien--but only by a hair.
Just Saying, -Jane.
