Messing With Shapes

It's no secret that some people on this blog are big fans of shipping Miraculous characters. Although I may not be as vocal about it, I too have opinions on the love square (if you don't know what that is, it's basically four different ways on shipping two people). Even though my associates will be the ones focusing on shipping, I would like to put my ring in the hat. For those who have been living under a rock, the love square is comprised of the following four ships: Adrinette, Ladrien, Ladynoir, and Marichat. At face value, this all seems stupid. I mean, it's the same two people! But like the secret identities, there are small differences. Ladrien is where the two crushes meet (Adrien's crush on Ladybug and vice versa). For that, they both act like awkward goofs around each other. Adrinette and Ladynoir basically have the same concept, one is crushing while the other doesn't care or is oblivious. Marichat is the most platonic out of the four since neither of the two are crushing. Therefore, it's the most natural and my favorite. It's where the two can talk each other and not worry on exactly what to say. Out of these four ships spawn the twist and turns of the series, because these ships have completely different outcomes and will change the format in vastly different ways. That's why there is a difference. Now that we're all caught up, we have to talk about the people who try to add squiggles into our square. I bet you are thinking of a few---Chloe, Nathanial, Lila, Luka, ect. These people are the ones who try to ruin our shape and start their own rules of geometry. Now I don't want to bash on people who ship anything other than the love square. Believe me, some ships sound possible if you think about it. But as in most series, Miraculous has a main ship that will happen whether we like it or not, and if you ship anything else, you're setting yourself for heartbreak. It happens with a lot of series (The Flash, Arrow, Kim Possible, ect.) Although, this fact doesn't stop those people and it only brings fuel to the fire. So, to the people who don't ship the love square, I applaud you on being unconventional and letting your voice be heard. To the people who do ship the love, keep moving the boat forward.

Just Saying, -Jane
